I was pleased with the variety of images I shot on Saturday with Amy and Shastyn They were great to work with and the shoot didn't drag at all. We shot what could be split into eight different sets, from Tool Girls, to Chainsaws, to Jeep Girls, to Pirates, to Pirate Jeep Girls, they were very flexible and transitioned well from one set to the next.

This was the first time I've really felt comfortable using the 5D MK II. Before I think it had a lot to do that the video feature of the camera wasn't working correctly and I felt like the camera was crippled. When I got it back the second time from Canon I was kinda pissed at the camera and cannon. They were cool and fixed it and all but it was just the fact of paying for it and having to send it back twice that really cut into me and made me question "do I really need it"? Now my answer is a resounding yes, of course I do. Not only do I need it, but I need lenses, more lenses, and a good tripod for video.

Something is different, I can't tell what, but last night something changed. I realized one of the main reasons I've been blocked from producing images over the past few months is I haven't got into a workflow with CS4. I know it's not that different, but I just jumped up from a 300D to a 5D Mark II and went from CS2 to CS4 within a month or two of each other. I had to send the 5D back twice to get it working properly but finally Canon fixed it. It had a line the length of the screen on the video. When I got it back the last time, I didn't even want to pick it up. I guess it was due to the fact of how expensive it was, and how I counted on paying for it with tax returns but ended up overspending as usually and when time came to pay for it, I realized I was completely broke and couldn't really afford it pretty much like everything thing else. It sucks when you realize you're screwed. So I moped about for a few weeks. During this time I was at an impasse with editing. For me, once I get a new program I think that's all I'm going to use and pretty much forget about what I was doing yesterday and focus on the new. This time it didn't work. When I realized it last night, something clicked, just because it's new, and packed with features you don't currently have doesn't mean it's going to catapult you to a new level. It just means you've got way more to learn to be able to produce at the level you were at before. I guess with enough experience you could make it, but that's something I've never claimed to have, I just picked up a camera and started shooting, no training. No training of CS except for what a friend showed me, and that's pretty much all I know. I watch tutorials from time to time but seem to loose interest in the vastness of the web and can't stay focused for shit.

Anyway, if you've read to this point, thanks for following me and hopefully you'll enjoy what I've went back to CS2 to produce. I shot the "Sack" set about two weeks ago after getting the 5D MK II back about a month before. The camera is great, but honesty I do feel the image features are a bit over my head. I have been sticking to using it almost exclusively for video and shooting still images on my old 300D. So the images with the black bands are screen captures from the 5D and the full size no bands are the 300D.

I was working on building a storage area in our garage and decided to set it up for a shoot. I just decided I wanted to learn how to frame and build a room so I set to work. Sometimes I think hammering 3 1/2" spikes is therapy for me. I somehow felt better after establishing something I could look at that would stay and couldn't just be deleted or erased. Sure it could be in time, but it's not electronic and never will be. Sometime it's easy for me to loose myself in images, and getting more. More equipment, more models, more time to work on my photography or video. This set is about less. Making do with what you've got, and making the models looks irrelevant. Everything is stripped in this set everything is bare.

We can message each other if we want or just post random bits of life that might be cool at the moment and do it 160 characters or less. So follow me and prove Twitters worth...it's the latest thing and no one knows what it's for really it's so simple it's mind blowing and if I could remember I would post more than I do.

I'm currently in the midst of a revolution against laziness. I've taken it upon myself to combat laziness where-ever it may become apparent in my day to day life. I've started with posting at least one photo I've taken a day on one of my ports or [link] in an effort to center myself around photography and my life as a photographer and filmmaker. I've canceled the cable, and now if I have to watch tv I just check it out on the computer on [link] and then get back to work instead of just laying on the couch and dozing off. I've kicked a few bad habits in the process and have noticed a few more that need to go. All in all I feel more productive and will continue the revolt until a regime change has occurred.

I just started shooting this past Saturday for a new website I've been working on for a while. The website is going to center around models and Jeeps or something to do with Jeeps in the shot.

Funny thing is when I was shooting my first model outside on the trail the other day we had quite an audience during the shoot. The minute we arrived at our supposed "remote location" this group of people just appeared out of nowhere and hung out hiding in the edge of the woods. So out of respect to the model we shot some conservative shots to start out. Then after about 15mins I think they lost interest or found better hiding spots...and we progressed to shooting more adventurous images. We were both tired of the sun after a while and decided to move into the shade on another trail. We shot there for about an hour and things were going great...really getting some good shots and then just as she had removed her shorts to expose her spectacular behind and posed in a rather interesting squat on the ground this trail runner comes out of nowhere from behind both of us, and just runs though our shoot. All he said was "Looks like you're shooting some quality images". Yep, I said as he ran off down the trail. I bet that guy is going to be out there 2 times a day seeing if he'll see us again. and if he does...about next weekend...he will see us again.

Anyway, the model was cool about it...kinda spooked at first but she was okay after a min. She said, well, everyone is going to see my ass in the images anyway...that guy just saw the real thing.
